We suddenly had some really cold weather here in Arkansas. There wasn't a lot of snow but we had sleet in abundance.

 

Take a look at this photo mom took of some trees in the backyard.

There was so much ice that lots of things were closed and there was almost no sound on the road all day.

 

It seemed like the perfect time to make a pot of Chicken and Dumplings!

This Chicken and Dumplings recipe is made with crescent rolls instead of biscuits but you can use either.

 

Make it in the Instant Pot or on the stove top. It's delicious!

 

For Christmas this year, mom got everyone electric donut makers (me, my sister and my brother). To say that we've been having fun with them is an understatement.

 

When I was little, I loved getting the little packages of mini donuts. Now, I can make them myself.

These Mini Coconut Donuts are tasty and a little crunchy because I toasted the coconut first.

 

I also made some Orange Donuts using cake mix. That definitely made things easier.
