What a fun week! We've been doing a lot of experimenting in the kitchen and I hope to bring you new posts about tamales, dried chiles, cookies and more very soon!

While we were preparing to take new photos of an older recipe, I was taking some step-out photography and just happened to catch mom singing while stirring.

It only lasted a few seconds before she caught me, though! I'll keep trying!

Making Fresh Basil From Scratch

I am always excited when it's time to harvest the basil. This time, I was able to harvest from the indoor Aerogarden and the outside planter at the same time.

This afternoon, I plan on enjoying as much pesto as I can stuff in my face with some French bread I have in the bread machine right now. I can hardly wait.

One Skillet Cheesy Chicken Chili

It won't be long before it will be time to start thinking about cutting up fire wood and preparing the log pile. It means that it's time to be thinking about soups and stews again!

This chicken chili is a great alternative to tomato-based chili. It's easy to make, in just one skillet. And, that ooey gooey cheese! Who could resist?!
