You may have been eating fake cinnamon your entire life.

Did you know that the cinnamon most commonly purchased in the US isn't cinnamon at all?

That's right! The cinnamon that is so readily available at the store is actually called cassia. It's more like a cousin to cinnamon, but it's not the real thing.

True cinnamon is called Ceylon Cinnamon. I don't know that I've ever had cassia because mom always buys Ceylon online.

Mom says that it's the way cinnamon is supposed to taste and I can tell you that it's GREAT in cinnamon rolls!

These aren't your ordinary cinnamon rolls either. I started off with a Hawaiian bread recipe for the dough.

Yes, you better believe it. It's the best of both worlds. Hawaiian bread AND cinnamon rolls. Yum!

How do you slice cinnamon rolls?

I was able to learn a new trick with this recipe too!

You can make nice round rolls if you use a stiff cotton twine to cut the slices instead of trying to use a knife.
